Contact Customer Relationship Service

If no AMICABLE solution can be found between the Emera group or one of its subsidiaries and the consumer or if no response to a claim has been received, the consumer may then refer the entity to the AME Consumer Mediation within a period of not more than one year.

Disputes involving consumer mediation mainly relate to the services provided for in the residence contract: billing disputes, hosting conditions, laundry maintenance. The health services provided by health professionals to patients are excluded from the scheme, to assess, maintain or restore their state of health, including prescription, administration and supply of medicines and medical devices.

The consumer can contact the member organisation of the AME Consumer Mediation by email by completing a form available on the site, accompanied by documents supporting the request.

The member organisation of the AME Consumer Mediation will acknowledge receipt of the referral and the designated mediator will have a period of 3 weeks to make an initial decision on the admissibility of the application. The mediator will have a 3-month period in which to carry out the investigation (may be extended in complex cases).

At the end of the 3-month period, the mediator will make a proposal, unless an agreement has been reached between the parties with the mediator’s accord.

Any party is free to follow or otherwise the proposal by the mediator.

Accepting the solution proposed by the mediator binds the parties and terminates the dispute between them. After that agreement, no legal action may be sought for the same dispute, except in the event of a new element coming to light.
